@the good excuses: Hmm... possibly no connection then. The Thompsons I'm related to in the US were descendants from Ed (in PA, still alive) and Alec (passed). Although there's plenty of offspring, I know Edwin wouldn't have been one.

@Brian Thompson Podcasts: right now i'm sort of family-less. my father (passed) had extended family in canada, Bill and Pam Thompson. I think they were either from Vancouver or Ontario. i know my dad's dad was named Edwin Thompson but he died in the 60's
