WELCOME TO MUSICAL RODEO
Hello, I’m T A Schmid, founder of Musical rodeo. I have no great accolades in the Music business, but I have been around it awhile.
As a Songwriter, I spent a lot of hard earned money trying to breakthrough and get my songs signed by one of the Big’s. I came close like many others, when it didn’t happen…I did move on…
but I never have forgot all the things I learned about the industry and the way it functions…
I went back to writing about my favorite things,
and in my own way,
without being subject to the commercial requirements…
One thing I learned for certain…. You can have a great song… You can have the polite persistence that is mandatory…. But you still have to have a lucky break….. to break through that is….
There is a whole lot of wonderful young talent out there hoping for a break…. or just having fun sharing their music
Along with a lot of silver haired experienced studio musicians, engineers and great demo singers…
finding there way back into an ever popular growing social network
of talent, all over the world…via places like SC.
Here at musical rodeo we have created a place for your music to fit in and compete at any level…. where opportunities to win cash prizes are constant and continuous. Paying up to 3 places…in various genres or special events..…just like rodeo…the more contestants that enter,
the higher the cash prizes…..but…..
…… instead of coming up against a sea of thousands,
like most contests….or having to wait months and months for results…
We limit contests to either a maximum of 100 contestants or 30 days to enter…The payoffs are within 15 days…. That’s hard to beat….
I am not afraid to call this a gamblers site for Artists…except the odds here of winning are basically 3 out of a 100…. that’s a lot better than any other Song Contest… Card table…. or Lottery for that matter
……of course Song Contests are either voted on or judged, or a combination of both…. we will use the rodeo way of judging….. two judges, with 4 ways of scoring and the winners are picked by the highest scores…..the judges are not revealed for any contest running…past judges will begin to appear on the archive page along with any personal or professional information they care to share,
Also at Musical Rodeo…. we will strive to eliminate a large portion of the luck….. and pick winners based on their performance….
…at what ever level they enter in…..but luck, or sheer coincidence, still remains a part of the equation…it can never be eliminated completely. Just like Rodeo…
Another feature that makes Musical Rodeo unique is,….
… not only can you enter over and over…. you can enter the same song over and over…
…..only cash winning songs are eliminated from competing in regular competitions…obviously cash winning songs can compete in the Semi final and International Finals….or if those qualifiers are feeling lucky, they can enter a new song…
Like any good idea developed for internet use…. the amount of users is the key….we built this site in a way that you would not only compete…
…but would seek out others to compete as well…. the more competitors…the more money…. simple as that…and we are extremely dedicated to increasing the “Added Prize Money” based on usage…. someone is going to win, it very well could be you… I believe your chances of that are better here, than anywhere else…..

@andsmith: Yes it will be wide open as far as contestants.. and we will continually add more categories and bigger invitational jackpot rounds to the high money winners....but never leave anyone behind, there will always be a new contest available at the low end as previous top money winners progress.....like poker tournaments somewhat......except the game never ends for those wanting to compete......

@T A Schmid: It seems like you have it down in concept. the actual finished product always needs tweaking. If i could see the site i could give more input. Also if you are promoting the site outside of sound cload there are many great bands looking for this kind of a contest. other social networks like reverb nation and band camp may be good as well to promote your contest.. also you may want to team up with sites like music xray. i am starting to send some of my stuff there . You should check out the site. It helps songwriters find industry contacts producers, song critiques and more. Anyway i will be thinking of other ways for you grow your contest.

Tom , this is a fantastic idea. the rodeo theme is perfect and your write its like a giant sea out there that makes everyone but a lucky few feel totally insignificant. Your idea to scale it down is great. best of luck with your new venture .its about time for musical rodeo.

thanks for info ta sound a bit of good fun i aspecially like the flexible entry levels to allow people of all abilities enter.i assume people can just stand at a mic and sing a song without playing a note of music.there are many people who can write / sing a good song but just cant play instruments.is this ok. acupello
