thoko is a singer/songwriter/producer by day and a live mash-up dj by night. relentlessly perfecting his craft for the past 9 years, thoko has taken in influence from an eclectic range of genres and this is evident in his unique sound.


beginning at age 15, thoko took an interest in r&b and rap music. over time however he developed an interest in other genres and was soon taking in ideas from the genres of rock, hip-hop, r&b, house, electro, jazz and even classical. as time went on, he adopted a new mindset in his productions which left him no boundaries, no rules, no genres.


after producing a bootleg remix of the beatles' "eleanor rigby", his skills were noticed by a local dj and he was given a crash course in mixing. thoko has played in support of (ministry of sound) dj's sam la more, hook n sling, the aston shuffle, goodwill, and the grammy nominated (uk) producers the freemasons.


never one to give up on a winning strategy, thoko continued to produce remixes throughout late 2009 and made them the centerpiece of his dj sets. his remix of "ms jackson" has received airplay on bbc's radio 1 from dj kissy sell out.
