One of the most exciting new British bands to emerge this year, The Violet May have been winning widespread praise for both their intense live performances and ear-grabbing music.

The band were first outed as one of Alan McGee's “Tips for 2010" in The Guardian before releasing their debut single, Bright Or Better, with an accompanying video shot by Douglas Hart of Jesus & Mary Chain. The Violet May went onto be named Steve Lamaq's "new favorite band" on his BBC 6Music show, headlined London's infamous KOKO venue (1,800 capacity), performed a sold out Italian tour, undertook a German tour with The Chapman Family, played at both Leeds Festival and Secret Garden Party, opened for Band Of Skulls and Boxer Rebellion, and won fervent support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, BBC 6Music, XFM, NME, Clash and Artrocker.

And all this before the release of their acclaimed EP “TV” released this summer. In the words of The Guardian, “their time is now.”
