This is "Sucker", the 7 minute long monstrous first look at the debut single from California X.
Owing to a set of coincidences too strange to detail here, this band serendipitously came to our attention after their very first gig on November 27, 2011.
The single itself was cut in one day in early January with Justin Pizzoferrato (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr.), and we think the nearly 7-minute behemoth “Sucker” and its more pop-leaning flip side herald the arrival of special new guitar band. We’re excited to hear what this young group from Amherst, Mass does next and we think you will be too.
"Sucker" / "Mummy" will be released on ltd 7" and Download on March 12th and is available to pre-order here: http://thesoundsofsweetnothing.bandcamp.com/album/sucker-mummy-double-a-side

I love the atmosphere. Reminds me of a better decade.
