@TBruckshut/5StarProject: thank you! it was supposed to just be a light-hearted jam session but it kept going...
for example, the drum track is just a straight recording off the MPC so all mixed together and "looped" out .. id like to spend some more time on it soon.
@able danger: thank you, sir! wasn't sure how people would feel about it -- bit of a departure from a lot of our stuff. will probably include it on our beat mixtape coming up :)
@larrygates: let's take this offline. please send me an email @ tonymission@gmail.com so we can talk directly. thanks :)
@larrygates: Thanks for the feedback, I'd say it definitely depends on the mixing ... there's not a *ton* to the track. Are you the Larry Gates from the old Hit Factory NYC?
@Jaybird: welcome!
@BANGG: depending on how much money you have i would go with a roland fantom. The G is top dog, but he X is a badass tool and is way cheaper right now.
@BANGG: fantom G son. The king of workstations
damn this song is sick as fuck(chris)
@felixwendeburg: yall are right. i just dont really care. all that shit gets fixed when the track gets recorded on anyway (multi track session) ... these mixes are really just for sound cloud.
@terminill: i dunno? which? not intentionally lol
@terminill: yup, chris killed those drums. got a new mix of this comin up shortly. track's too hot to let it ride ...
yall are hot
is that ya sis on there (intro)? yanno i love this one ..
@jymi: well as a jimi non-guitar playin whore i appreciate the info. i know what you're talking about now and if i remember right, i got the hook coming in around bar 21 or 17 when the bass changes up but it could go either way and when we start her up in pro tools with an artist about to lay something on top of it, it often does just that. we fly stuff around all over the place during final arrangement.
really appreciate the compliments and you listening/paying attention man. i started using this site just for the flash widget on our website but have really enjoyed the community here. it's nice to get listens out of our own community and i look forward to releasing King's Ransom 1 (a free MP3 download/mixtape of our sexier productions) very soon!
as far as how... man, i have no clue half the time. i guess some good kush always helps ... ;-)
seriously, we just keep going at a riff/fill/edit/whatever until there is no question that THAT is the one... you just know. we run that fine comb over everything we do. unfortunately, it makes enjoying music kind of difficult ... =/
@jymi: preciate it.. what you mean by backwards? that the hook comes second?
likin this too.. i need some clean beat copies
this is hot too
drums sounds great
@vo1k1: thank you.
I havent just because of legalities. We have some major label arrangements that give them "first right to refusal" privileges so until I know that those obligations, I guess, have been "refused", then there's not a lot I can do with stuff. I probably shouldnt even have this stuff on here, but I don't care... :P
There will be some stuff available soon. Once we put out King's Ransom 1.
@BANGG: man .. real talk... i happened to record some shit online while i was outta the house and came back and checked it later.. i really have no idea. private message me? ;-) (thanks)
@wim: thanks (they're actually in the new mix revision ;-))
@coredeath: they are sample chops on an mpc .. it is INTENTIONAL here. there are obviously no other sample chop issues throughout the track except on fills where we actually did the mutes live during record. the intro is meant for it to sound like the record is dying ... when it drops, it hits very very bright ... a stark contrast. compare it to our other intros which are, very, very systematic and what you're wanting. :) thanks for listening though. hip hop is a bit of its own beast.
@aviscanabis: thanks man appreciate that!
ok this part is too dope... all i could suggest is cutting chops out from your hook and using it for transitions or whatever earlier in the track so those sounds dont completely come out of no where.. love that hook tho.. and the drumz
clean mix
@tjkong: its for a female artist of mine so i guess it remains to be seen if we're gonna hurt the original or not. im betting "nope" but thanks for listening :)
@weeddigger: this clip does... the song goes about 3:50+ ;-) ... glad ya like tho mane!
nice!
definitely needs a tuning but you fault well through it :)
this part has a lot of potential... id like to see what i could do with some select cuts of yours.
@Yodada: preciate it! wasnt sure how people would feel about this one
if lil wayne was a chick ...
what you doin your drums on
ill fux with this
thats hot
nice vibe on the track!
cant hear the vocals too well
beat sounds very well mixed
dope strings
@BANGG: lots and lots of chopping and layering!!
