Middle school English teacher by day, producer, singer, and songwriter in Queens, New York by night. Somewhere between the ‘80s energy of Jam and Lewis and Taylor Dayne and the modern production of Frankmusik and Donkeyboy, There Is Thunder’s sound is neither reductively retro, nor slavish to current trends. It is the sound of a thousand video game ferraris in Miami, paint splashed on your office pumps, a robot teddy bear at the discotheque.
There Is Thunder has been working out of a home studio since 2012 after years of folk music and has since devoted himself to the synthesizer. In the past year, he has released a handful of remixes for artists MNDR, Paloma Faith, and Leona Lewis, produced tracks and demos for pop, dance, and hip hop artists, and is currently working on his own EP this fall.
