La Guerre is Lawrence,KS based songwriter Katlyn Conroy. Before fronting La Guerre she spent the last few years in projects like Cowboy Indian Bear, Hospital Ships, Another Holiday and felt it was time to step forward with a new solo identity. La Guerre is named after a vocal piece that Conroy sang in high school and is French for “the war. The name embodies themes that are haunting yet beautiful just like the same themes that can be found in her music. Conroy finds herself drawn to a set of varied influences, such as Miranda July, Conor Obsert and Jason Lytle. While recording and playing live she utilizes a rotating cast of musicians, but one thing is always front and center: as long as the truth is uncomfortable, Conroy will show it can also be beautiful.
