J-Hen is an R&B and Hip-Hop recording artist known for his hot single “Sex Instructor” which was successful in hitting the Billboard Hot Single Sales Charts in 2012 four or more times as well as entering the charts “bubbling under” twice. The single also made the Billboard 2012 Year End Hot Single Sales Chart as noted by Billboard.biz.

With the clubs and night scenes constantly looking for the next big hit to keep their patrons on the dance floor, J-Hen has stepped out on faith and will soon release an album that is sure to put the Music Entertainment world on alert. His new album is from a collection that is comprised of smooth R&B, HipHop and Pop. J-Hen has developed his own style that is very different with gripping vocals and shredding lyrics that are the heart and soul of his new upcoming debut album, "Envision." His songs are sensual, sensitive and sassy and have a whole lot of soul. There will be something on this album for everyone.

J-Hen was born in Shreveport, Louisiana (born James Edwards Henry Jr.) June 14th but was raised as a Texan. He lives in Dallas, TX where he grew up listening to such idols as Michael Jackson, Timbaland, Luther Vandross, Marvin Gaye, Prince, The Isley Brothers, Silk, and the newest to the list The Neptunes, Scott Storch, Bobby Valentino, Omarion, Marques Houston, Trey Songz, Chris Brown, Ursher and Justin Timberlake to name a few. He started rapping at the age of 12. He later learned how to write his own songs and in less than a few months he formed a rap group with long-time friend Brandon Heath, A.K.A. B-Heazy. After learning how to rap he fused the concept of rapping with singing and began to write, produce, and record music! While still in high school the duo released their first LP, "Livin' Durrty", which included tracks of J-Hen singing. He liked the success of the album and decided to switch over to R&B. However, while focusing on the second LP the group parted ways. Since then J-Hen has been writing music consistently and working on new material. J-Hen has created a buzz for himself through social media with his style of interacting with his fans and is currently topping several social media charts.

His upcoming album, Envision, was produced in Dallas by local Producers, Jason Alexander Martin and Walter Johnson Jr. and in Shreveport, LA, by Producer Ron Jefferson. The album was mastered and engineered by Danny Leake with Urban Guerrilla Engineers in Chicago, IL.

Review of Single Sex Instructor

J-Hen’s sexy single, “Sex Instructor”, opens with a robotic voice counting down to the start of the track, easing listeners into the sensual and hot soulful grooves that will without fail arouse in audiences the sultry images the R&B singer has provided in his vocals. The Dallas-based artist has concocted a fully-fledged pop/R&B hit that with contagious hooks and playful lyrics will stay etched in the listener’s mind long after the track has stopped spinning. The contagious hooks aren’t just straight on infectious – towards the core of it all, the track is also dance-worthy. With a soulful suavity, the slow, smooth flow of “Sex Instructor” will have clubbers gravitating to the dance floors in large numbers. But best of all, hemmed to the base of J-Hen’s track, “Sex Instructor” is a strong backbeat, fueled by a great energy that keeps up the momentum alive to the very end. Listeners will definitely be pulled in by the track’s sassy style and tenacious lyrics.

Towards the end of the track, the uncensored, flirtatious quality of the vocals eases to a close, and is tailed by an electric guitar solo by Madukwu Chinwah. Chinwah’s reverb-drenched performance adds a dreamy layer to the already tonally lush track. The meshing of rock and R&B also adds a unique spin to the song.
