The Raged Buying his first set of decks at the tender age of 13, The Raged has always had a desire to pursue a life in music. After spending a few years practicing at home, by the age of 17 he was playing in local bars and clubs in his home county of Cumbria which lead to a residency at the rock./electro night "Fugitive Sounds". After 2 years however, he set out to broaden his musical horizons and so moved to Leeds. It was here that he was exposed to a wider range of electronic music. Frequently going to such nights as Back to Basics and Wax:On and attending Global Gathering catalysed The Raged into experimenting with different musical styles. It was at this point that house and techno became more prevalent in his sound. Over the years the his reputation grew which resulted in being asked to play at such nights as 'D-form', 'Form' and most recently 'Kill the Promoter'. During this time he was also brought to attention of the promoters of Bradford night 'Bops' where he has since played several times. Most recently he has gained a residency at Leeds's Bourbon Bar. It is here that he can showcase his versatility by experimenting with playing anything from funk, rhythm and blues, rock through to metal, indie, drum and bass, electro and dubstep. He has also has much experience playing at bigger outdoor venues. In 2007 headlined the dance tent at both Pitch and Nine Standards festival. Bigger events have since been added to his repertoire including doing the closing set at Kendal Calling 2008 and warming up of "the king blues' at the festival in 2009. Not content with being restricted to playing other artists tracks however, The Raged has now moved into producing his own tracks. This year saw him put out the products of his production skills in the form of "Home experiment". It has been described on the influential blog site "Squeaky Bleeps" as ":an absolute techno monster". The track has since gone on to attract the attention of techno connesuir Richie Hawtin and electro trance artists 'Joe and Will ask" on Soundcloud with Hawtin labelling it as his "favourite" track of the week. In addition his glitchy cut up of the "Dangerous Animals" Bootleg of the Arctic Monkeys. It too has received rave reviews over the internet. It has been downloaded over 10,000 times and reached number 2 in the German mp3 download chart. The Raged describes his current musical style as "very heavy electro, techno with elements of rock and big heavy baselines with lots of distortion".
