Though it's hard to make out, right before the burst of applause you can hear John Zorn telling a member of the audience "If you don’t like it, you can F--- off!". In Zorn's defense, the man had been booing the improvised performance of Zorn and fellow performers, Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson. The trio performed a short lived concert on July 2, 2010 at the Montreal International Jazz Festival. Impossible to actually hear it on this clip. I have read elsewhere witness reports and discussions. So what? Anything special about the incident or the performance positive/negative? About Zorn's attitude? I generally sympathize with those who criticized, mainly because some of them know and support Zorn's works. But the trio is experimental. Booing has to do with dissatisfaction which has to do with expectation. What CAN be heard though is applause. Strange, but is the majority then in agreement with the performance/incident?
