The Financial Sense Newshour is probably the best kept secret in the news media, covering financial topics and investment strategies in a manner that has built a cult following with listeners who are searching for quality news. The host, Jim Puplava, has built an unusual trust with his audience for his lucid questions, independent thought and fair inquiry into areas that are sometimes deemed fringe. On the July 17, 2010, edition of the program, Puplava announced that conspiracy theorist kingpin Alex Jones had been invited on the show to debate a member of Accuracy in Media, a conservative thinktank that has built its reputation on showing biases in the media, for a special show on hidden agendas and conpiracy, a topic that callers have been bringing up several times a week. Puplava states how he had yet to hear from Jones after extending the invitation, and that he couldn't guarantee Jones' appearance on the show; however, on the Alex Jones Show on Monday, a caller brought the invitation to Jones' attention whom apparently was unaware of the invitation, much less the existence of the program.
