August again,
I remember you when,
Mercury climbs,
Ten red lines,
When the cornfield returns,
And the wild poppy burns,
You were my wayfaring friend,
From May to the end,
We were climbing so high,
Through a long evening sky,
And the rain never came,

Bread and jam and faded photographs

Wild winter will fade,
Deep in the shade,
We’d lie in this place,
And stare into space,
See the first evening star,
Hear music from cars,
See the wild flower grow,
From a seed to a rose,
