About

As the eccentric personification of lunacy, Dr. Macabre’s performances create total madness on the floor. Diving deeply into his music on stage, the crowd can only follow…

A trip to the asylum

With a reputation as one of the best performers on stage, Paris resident Guillaume Leroux has been a true icon of electronic music. His library of productions reaches back as far as the early 90s, when a young Guillaume started producing music on his Amiga. Under his Lunatic Asylum alias the French artiste extroadinaire quickly ended up with his first releases, resulting in releases like ‘The Meltdown’. An early rave classic, claiming the title of Love Parade anthem.

From early on, Guillaume’s sound was harder than others. Something which the German scene (known for its harder sound) embraced. Through his rise abroad, Guillaume Leroux came into contact with the notorious PCP label. His first release there as ‘French Connection’, was a hit and still is. Soon followed by other releases, Guillaume (using a broad collection of alter-egos) established himself as a major artist in the hardcore scene. This status was shifted into legendary when he released ‘Ghost Stories Chapter 1’ featuring the track ‘Poltergeist’. Presented under the name of Dr. Macabre, the track is still considered as one of the best hardcore tracks ever made.

After several releases (including the Manga Corps project with Manu Le Malin), Dr. Macabre became one of the first French hardcore producers to perform at big hardcore raves in The Netherlands. Since then, Macabre has been expanding his skills into other genres of electronic music. Demonstrating his unique sound; often atmospherical, always energetic, Macabre definitely made his mark.

He concentrates now on the "Lunatic Asylum" projects, doing remixes among other kind of music. Check player for the latest outputs.
