About

The Dubless

Hailing from Tokyo is The Dubless, a psychedelic disco rock duo! The duo consists of dextrax's ryo of dextrax who's been in the old school house and disco reedit scene and AUTO PILOT's UZNK from the rock music scene.

As dextrax, ryo of dextrax has remixed 'Zulu' by Armand Van Helden for a NY house music record label, Strictly Rhythm's 20th anniversary compilation. Later on, he has released a 12" record, "Lateral Thinkin' ep." 'e-glez', off this EP, became a big hit in the house and new disco scene and has been played by top DJs like Kenji Takimi and KZA of Force Of Nature. The other half of the duo, UZNK has played at Fuji Rock Festival and released a couple albums on major record label as AUTO PILOT in the past.

ryo of dextrax and UZNK met each other in the spring of 2008 at Bar Cheeky in Tokyo, clicked then decided to start The Dubless. With a great mixture of a DJ and a rock music style, they've started to write psychedelic dance songs together. After having done a cover for Fleetwood Mac's 'Albatross', the duo has chosen 'birds' as a theme for their songs.

The Dubless has played with Idjut Boys and composed music for theatrical plays. Falling in love with their debut album, "The Dubless / The Dubless", ROOM FULL OF RECORDS has decided to give them a hand and release their 12" EP, "The Dubless / JAMKARET,Blackkite," which has been released on October 1st, 2012. The EP has already good words by fellow musicians like, Francois K, Idjut Boys, and Max Essa.
