The music world is a much better place when the energetic DJ/producer pair known as The Deep End take centre stage….the question is: why didn’t this happen sooner?
Nicholas Nowitski, A.K.A NIK NIK, and Jed Dadson have been, for almost a decade now, musicians, friends and colleagues in the Toronto nightlife industry, each with a career that has seen them working in the DJ booths and behind the scenes of the city’s most notable venues. However it was only after very successful performances together at the 2011 BPM festival in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico that the two decided in earnest to pursue something they should’ve done years ago: to bring together their unusually similar taste and talents for playing and producing House Music and showcase it to the world.
Their style and selection of House Music, like their name, runs deep: as testament to the nearly 20 years of DJing experience each man has under his belt, they can easily create a buzz on the dancefloor with soulful, deep house music cuts, or kick up a storm with tech-house and big room vocal-progressive sets. The end result is always the same: a vibrant party with a crowd that leaves in the early morning with a much greater love and appreciation for House Music than when they arrived the night before.
The future is very bright for The Deep End, with a steadily increasing number of shows in Toronto, a return engagement at The BPM Festival in 2012, and highly anticipated production work in the mix as well. So then, why didn’t this happen sooner? Who knows….but it’s certainly happening right now.
