Morals of Men

It won’t do
The morals of men
For grace, it hides in you

And flesh keeps
The secrets untold
We’ll plumb the depths of you

For years the branches grew
As if the shadows worn the meadows
Leaving skin so wan and so cold

For years the boughs have know
That what you smote bellow the shadows
Were the arrows blunt and holed

I would that you were willing and sharp
I know that grace is tough and strikes like a knife

Lay me down
Beat me up

Can you imagine if we were together
And finally time cracked
It wouldn’t do, the morals of men
For grace, it hides in the woods
