The Catalysts are an electro/ bass music act with members in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester and Portsmouth.
The collective was originally made up from Manchester born Glasgow based emcee Calibre, lead vocalist for Edinburgh based Rock/Blues band The Underclass John Keenan (Underclass) and Manchester based vocalists Lois Entwistle and Siobhan Pryce.
Final cuts of the collectives debut showcase EP were produced by bass music producer J.d McLellan.
The Collectives first Single "No Sleep" is due to be released by dnb/ dubstep label DLA Black 10/05/13 having already had their track "Playing with Knives" feature on DLA's 3rd birthday bass album this March. The Catalysts are currently working on the next batch of tracks and have recently brought on board two new producers into the collective, Portsmouth based fellow DLA Black artist Voltage Dubstep (https://soundcloud.com/jordanmcguiremusic) and Salford/ Manchester based Producer Sky-Fi (https://soundcloud.com/skyfiofficial) who recently produced a stunning remix of Playing With Knives as well as mastering the original version and No Sleep.
Members of the collective are currently busy with other projects also with Calibre due in the studio in April to finish his Starman EP which is a collaboration with Suffolk based Grime/ Hiphop producer Psythe, as well as featuring on AV8 records DJ/Producer DJ Yin's "Made in HK" album later this year alongside fellow Catalyst Lois Entwistle (https://soundcloud.com/djyin), Lois has also had some very exciting collaboration offers from stateside which is very hush hush right now as much as we would love to promote. Johns new band is hitting the studio in a big way right now, he's very hyped about it and keeps telling us to watch this space and Siobhan has began working with Manchester based House DJ/ Producer, Nervous Kid (https://soundcloud.com/nervouskid)
