    CTFAT126 – Dystopia EP

    Artist: The Attic Project
    Label: Fat! Records
    Release Date: 07/01/2013

    1. While Others Yearn
    2. Fire & Brimstone
    3. The Gale
    4. We Are Utopian

The Attic Project is the musical pseudonym for 19 year old Gus Nisbet. Heavily influenced by the mysticism of the East, and the beats of the West, his music incorporates bass heavy UK elements along with natural organic global sounds.

Having previously released on labels like Slime Recordings, Soulstep, Velcro City and Aenaria, The Attic Project brings his Dystopia EP to Fat! Records. The EP features four stunning original tracks, each showcasing various elements of his fascinating musical style.

The EP opens with the shimmering down-tempo prayer call of While Others Yearn, a track bursting with atmosphere accompanied by an achingly beautiful vocal sample. Fire & Brimstone raises the tempo with popping percussion, and an almost garagey style, and is once again dripping with emotive samples and vocals.

The Gale is an introspective rumbler, with a moody tone perfectly enhanced by distant drum rolls, sparse vocal wails and another delicate melody. The EP is serenely rounded off with We Are Utopian, a gorgeous blend of faint melodic keys, more beautifully judged vocals, and skittering percussion.
