It's all about the song otherwise your just a sexy mouthpiece crooning sweet nothings into a £2,000 microphone.

@|Lisbon Soul|: Thanks, I get that comparison a lot. He is a great songwriter to be compared to.
Your voice sounds great on this song, great song too.
Loving this track. Lush.
@Chris Scheri: I am a grumpy jaded sod at heart
@Chris Scheri: Just thought it would be fun to end on a middle 8, catch people out
@Chris Scheri: I make it rule to have a plot to every song.
@Chris Scheri: Thank you, I am a bit vorbose.
@Chris Scheri: The name stems from the older songs which are usually unreliable narrators
@Chris Scheri: Thanks Chris, you have been busy with the comments. Appreciated :-)
@Eddie_J: Cheers Eddie, how's tricks with you? Are you doing SWF14? I'd love to but I doubt I'll afford it.
Another 'interesting' arrangement. I think it would be stronger as an ABABC? or AABA. The A sections are as strong melodically as the B section but as the listener is waiting so long, there's a risk you may loose them. Otherwise could you vamp up the melody in the A section to create a stronger melody.
Could the chordal rhythm be altered in either the verse or the chorus to help define one from the other?
And here the boyband all get off their stools? Classic
Is the part where the stadium crowd all join in? I love it
Love this moment, that grabbed me (probably because it's very Beatles-esque
@Christian Scarth: It's a dubstep remix
The harmonies remind me of Elliot Smith. I like the lyrical repetitions and there's a lot of Beatles-esque tones and reverbs in here, love it
@THE FORGOTTEN COWBOY: Cheers mate
@Pixels: Thank you, I do listen to way too much Elvis Costello, it's clearly seeping through!
@Robin Estes: Thanks Robin. Even the great 'nonsense' lyricists like Dylan, Waits & Mitchell all have a solid basis for their songs and a sense of narrative which maybe harder to follow than the usual but the results are some powerful imagery. Thanks again
I remember this one from Friday night, awesome song.
I love the line 'have a bite of the moon'. You should get yourself a grand piano, something that can match up to your amazing voice.
There's some lovely sentiments and beautifully delivered.
This also a corking tune, hadn't heard this one before. Well done
So that's the actually title of the song! I thought it was 'I will'. It's a cracking tune to sing along to.
I agree with Eddie, Rock Star! Sounds awesome.
Love these lyrics at the back end of the chorus.
@kaokazlauckas: Thanks kao. Strangely?!? lol
Love it. You are a funny man and musical master
?!? Is this a serious song? It's bloody brilliant, another side of John.
That is an awesome title and a fantastic song.
I'm reliving the other night, this is a great song, genius.
@Michael Joy.: Thanks very much. That is high praise, I am humbled.
Beautifully epic, I'm always impressed how you've progressed your music over the years.
It kind of reminds me of some Zappa, the stuff with Carl Nepolean Brock (or whatever his name is)!
Good advice, I shall continue to xmas shop and make plans for the new year
I like the Arabian start, is that a minor 2nd and diminished 5th you're using?
Love it, it gets even better when you get the falsetto in there too.
@Red South Field: If I remember rightly it was a sontronic condenser mic but I'll check later. Thanks for your comment, it's always great to hear what other people think. I'll reciprocate later once I'm home.
