This song suite is dedicated to The East Village Vampire who is having a break from music to recharge the batteries. He’s been tremendously supportive of my work and I have to say that he’s one of the outstanding talents on Soundcloud. Do yourself a favour and check out his page.

I should have done individual songs but this song suite is my attempt at writing a soundtrack to a sci-fi film that doesn’t exist. About half way through I realized the fatal flaw of writing songs without visuals – it made sense in my head but wouldn’t to anyone else. Anyway this is where I got to

All the clichés of sci-fi films would be there but my story centers around the idea of a chrysalis and that both humans and aliens would use this to cover the vast distances of space. I have this image of a human finding an alien chrysalis which is surrounded by beauty – angels and sirens in my head. However when the chrysalis breaks it reveals the alien – dark and destructive. A reverse butterfly in effect.

Hopefully the titles will give you a sense of the journey. The likelihood is that I’ll keep this on for a few weeks and then delete (creating space for more “original” type songs) so if you want to download – it’s available.
