It's Daniele Luppi's trusty rhythm section, featuring Luca Serico on drums and Alessandro Arcuri on bass, that had the idea, back in 1999, to play live the most famous Cocktail/Lounge tunes. The duo already recorded many songs with Daniele Luppi, both for IRMA Records compilations, for independent movies soundtracks and for American musical libraries as well.
With a guitarist and an organ player they started out as an instrumental quartet, switching then towards a more catchy repertoire, thanks to the addition to their line-up of the singer Tiziana Guerra, formerly with the "summertime" and "notenere" gospel choirs.
The Smart Set's live performances, that started in the coolest clubs in Padua (Big Club, Villabarbieri, Fish Market), quickly spread to all the region's major discos and clubs. They've been hosted at various Lounge festivals around Italy
The Smart Set's studio work led to the release of some singles in as many compilations, both with original and cover tunes, such as the latest "the Party", featured in IRMA Records' "Mo'Plen Bacharach".
