@uaioiu: Not gonna lie, even I'm impressed by how well this turned out. I still can't help bub bobbing along during that riff in the "chorus", you know which one. All it is, is an experiment that went right.

@danx64: It did take a couple takes and a lot of studio magic to get it to this point. The drums are a drum machine and the choirs are synths. No witchcraft, just an insatiable urge for perfectionism.

@The Sky Calls to Us: that would probably sound awesome. i know what you mean about the vocals, they're my arch-nemesis at the moment because it feels like my whole album needs vox and i don't want to record them! and are you saying you recorded this song straight through? what kind of witchcraft is this??

@danx64: Aww, thanks, bro <3 But, yeah, I'll give the vocals a try. They won't be anything too dominant or even legible. I was thinking a funeral doom type growl or something, just another texture to play with more than anything. I'll give it a try, if it works it'll be a bonus track or something, I dunno. If not, I'll scratch it, I'm not too devoted. I never have vocals in my stuff (save for one track, but we'll disregard that one). Also, I cut a lot of the song out from my version because it droned on too long, so I'd have to re-record the whole thing. You know, the more I think about it, the less I wanna do it. You're right, instrumental voyage for the white whale, it is.

t castrate me for saying this, but the vocals were one of the main things that turned me away from mastodon eventually, and i really enjoy this as an epic instrumental voyage. that could be my personal taste for instrumental music, but i think do whatever feels right. and that even SOUNDS perfect, i'll check it out

@The Sky Calls to Us: if you feel called to record the vocals, i doubt it would hurt the track. don'

@danx64: I've been debating whether or not to try and record a vocal track for this, do you think that would work? Or is it interesting enough as an instrumental? Maybe I'll do one anyway and release both. I'll probably do that. And Yeah, man, I would love nothing more than to have you remix one of my tracks. Just a heads up, because I think you'll like it, pop over to my bandcamp page (links at the side) and check out my "Orchestrated Industrial Noise" album. I would love to see someone try and remix one of those.

I honestly think this is better than the original!
Sounds more "adult".
Get some vocals!
