The North Sea were formed in 2010 through a shared love of 80s and 90s indie, such as The Field Mice, The Wedding Present and The Smiths. They Played numerous gigs and festivals since, including shows in Dublin, Galway and Dingle and Festivals such as Indiependence, Knockanstockan and The Free Fringe Ballinamore.
They have also played support slots with one of Ireland's most influential bands, Whipping Boy, in The Button Factory and The Spirit Sore Dundalk.

The North Sea are starting 2012 with The Whelans One To Watch Tour 2012, their EP launch, followed by a nationwide and UK tour.
