The MNKY is influenced by and plays all kind of electronic music in the range of House and Techno. It is difficult to put him into a special genre or sub genre - all you can definitely say is that he plays an impulsive and floating danceable sound.
The MNKY was born 1975 in the western part of Berlin. Due to his fathers job abroad he was raised mostly in the northern part of Algeria till he reached the age of 6. in the year 1995 he seriously started collecting vinyl and soon became familiar with mixing. Influenced by radioshows and visits to certain clubs like E-Werk, Tresor and co. he improved his techniques. 2001 he made the Pfefferbank his new home with a replacement-gig for Eric D. Clark. At this time he was more famous under the name „Lego“ and played at open air venues such as MELT! and clubs throughout Germany...to be continued...
Nobody really knows when he turned in to The MNKY – not even The MNKY himself but in the year 2009 he released his first track on kritik records which is called "Painted Soul". Actually the Vocal was recorded in a Berlin basement club with some close friends. Kenneth Kerry Avera gave this track his deep soul voice and made it a smash hit.
At this time he already played a lot of gigs with DJ Term and they formed „TATM“ which are notorious for their helmets and their awesome sound. They where hosts of the famous "Holla die Waldfee" at the Morlox Club.
Since the beginning of 2012 he concentrates on finishing his first Album and tries to evolve a new phase as producer and liveact.
