Somehow reminds of John Murphy's soundtrack for 28 Days Later. Some songs slightly ressemble this one is some ways.

@johnny_ripper: oh! I can't recall the soundtrack, but I will have to take a listen. Thanks for the kind words.

This is good stuff!!!
- Simon James French on November 11, 2009 14:42
@sibilant tape: thanks! I don't quite see it as finished yet though, there's still some more movement I want to do in the second half. It's a soundtrack to a video that I recorded at the same time too, so when video+audio are finished I will send you the link if you like :)

This is a great track, I'm looking forward to seeing it with video too. Is it a warhol 'screen test' type visual? I'm probably be way off :)
- Simon James French on November 17, 2009 14:21
@tomwhites: yeah it's similar kinda stuff, but more about trying to accept the natural movements of the model. I've just finished the video and it can be seen here: http://vimeo.com/7662482 :)

fantastic sound. love all the creeks it makes!!
- Simon James French on November 11, 2009 14:30
@slavetothewage: brilliant aren't they :) It's worth recording just the creeks to be honest, perhaps I'll do that next!

So this is a little recording of the fire-destroyed piano at school. I wanted to just mess about with the layers of the recording and basically layered a heck load of the recordings I made and placed each one very slightly out of sync with the one before it. The little ‘glitches’ you can hear eve... Signal Drift episode four http://thelandof.org/radio Uploaded by the land of Start following Send a message on October 21, 2009 02:07

Hi. This is a good track, but it is being removed from the field recording group because the general opinion is that the group should consist of pure field recordings with no mixing or post production. Thank you for submitting!
- Mark harris on October 23, 2009 06:51
@iamanasterix: thanks - I've kind of developed this approach since I've worked with Francessco Lopez - the whole part of his working process is all material recorded is "adstract" as it is recontextualised by the act of recording - therefor post producion / mixing is part of the process of creation... Anyway I underatand your point and I'll respect your groups criteria in any furthure posts..... Do you have a forum discusing these issues???

@Mark harris: I mark. I like the ideas you are putting forth here. There is a 'forum' of sorts set up for field recording, but i don't ever use it. Please come over to my new group soundcloud.com/tabasco to submit tracks and continue discussing this sort of thing.

we love trees and wind!
- Mark harris on October 05, 2009 19:59
@cottagefagaudio: if you listen hard... you should be able to hear a couple of "gentelmen of the road" signing way down in the mix in with the wind in the trees
