ANALOG GROOVES - PSYCHEDELIC ELECTRO - GARAGE DISCO
Listening to The Incredible Stacks makes you wonder; How can three guys extemporizing on such vintage sixties and seventies equipment sound so modern and unconventional, so catchy and danceable!?
There‘s nothing extraneous. Just the jagged interplay of a chukka-chukka guitar, a screaming organ, bumping bass, and stuttering, thundering drums. The live set has a structure more similar to what a Dance DJ would do than to that of a Rock band - the beat just goes on and on. It‘s all about rhythm, dancing, irresistible grooves, catchy riffs and musical tension. Sometimes you would swear a dance record is on. But it‘s still them. Completely analog. No samples, no laptops, no sequencers.
Peter van der Meer: guitar, organ
Rob van der Meer: bass, clavinet
