About
The Horn The Hunt are a pop band from Leeds, England, comprising of Clare Carter and Joseph Osborne. On stage they are joined by Conor Lawrence on the drums.
The Horn The Hunt first began writing and recording songs in a flat in Sandnes, Norway in early 2008, after a few years of traveling around Europe. During their travels the duo have written and recorded songs in places ranging from an island off the coast of Greenland to a room carved into the side of a canyon in the middle of Spain, before settling into a bedroom studio in Leeds where they are now based.
They released their eponymous debut album independently in 2009 and began to perform their songs live as a duo, before signing to White Label Music in January 2010. On the 23rd of May 2011 they released their second album, ‘Depressur Jolie’ through the label and toured the UK, with shows in Europe.
In November 2011, they parted ways with their management and record label and are currently writing new material for their third album, due to be released in 2012.
The Horn The Hunt consider themselves largely unfaithful to any specific musical style or genre, settling with the term ‘pop’ to describe their fusion of ideas and the desire to connect with people through storytelling. They are big fans of David Lynch, Sonic Youth, Björk, Rammstein, Peter Doig, The Knife, Mazzy Star, The Jesus Lizard, Stanley Kubrick, L7, Babes in Toyland, Múm, Tomahawk, PJ Harvey, Tom Waits, The Fall, Lars Von Trier, Kate Bush, The Pixies, Tricky, Mamma Anderson, Radiohead, Die Antwoord, The Smashing Pumpkins, Melanie, Beck, Aphex Twin, The Beastie Boys, Leonard Cohen, The Doors, Paul Gauguin, and Angelo Badalamenti.
