Rabble is a young vibrant Sydney Dj whose passion for music is surpassed only by his energy behind the decks as he spins oldschool funk, jazz, lounge beats, hip hop, break/big beat, techno, house, and dnb/jungle, though he has been known to ignore that traditional definitions of genres completely.
Styles: oldschool funk, jazz, lounge beats, hip hop, break/big beat, techno, tech house, and dnb/jungle
In a market that is saturated with mediocre blog downloads and image based shenanigans Rabble is carving out a niche for himself as one who lets his music speak for itself.
Having developed a taste for hip hop and random beats through skate videos in his youth Rabble aka Matt Hodges was set on a journey that has seen him pursue music with an enthusiasm that has maintained itself to this day.
Following the beat based obsession throughout his teens Rabble soon found himself immersed in the dance music scene, quite convinced he'd found his calling.
Having obtained turntables during his late teens Rabble won the first Dj competition he ever entered (under the moniker Hatt Modges, one of several this mysterious character operates under) and has continued to hone his skills since, slowly causing a stir amongst those who have borne witness to his onslaught of groove.
Shying away from the standard 'urban' sound so often associated with hip hop Rabble has maintained a strong digging ethic/addiction that has seen him develop an extensive collection of sounds not often heard in clubs, whether it be a rammed floor at 3am or warming up a still arriving crowd Rabbles ability to sense and respond to the crowd without reverting to tired and tried formulas of commercial hits is one of the biggest assets present in his eclectic arsenal.
Developing sets that have been likened to the programming styles of Mr Scruff and Dj Z trip Rabble knows how to get hips swinging on the dance floor whether it be at a private function or in the middle of a field.
With a strong penchant for vinyl without being staunchly anti digital Rabble's record bag is an ever expanding gold mine, one he may share with you if you're lucky.
