Within a year, Dundas, Ont.’s Maggie Szabo has gone from a virtually unknown singer/songwriter to a YouTube sensation. On August 28, just in time for back–to–school, this exciting new pop artist will release her debut album, Now Hear Me Out, to legions of eagerly waiting young fans.
In the past few months, Maggie received a full page feature in American teen magazines J–14, M and Twist. She’s performed on the Digitour – a concert tour featuring YouTube’s biggest stars. She was also invited to play Burlington Sound of Music Festival and will appear on the main stage of Hamilton’s Festival of Friends the week of release. With an online fan–base growing by the thousands monthly and social media stats that top some of Canada’s most established pop artists, All About Maggie is a star on the rise.
All About Maggie has built her fan–base on YouTube covering current chart–topping hits and making them her own. Her cover of “Party Rock Anthem” with internet sensation WALK OFF THE EARTH has over 8 million views, and her five original songs have over 1.5 million views on VEVO.
The original songs on her album were all co–written by Maggie, with production by Tanya Leah (Melinda Dolittle/Wynnona Judd), Justin Gray (Joss Stone) and Gavin Bradley (Nelly Furtado).
