Emani, born May 6, 1992 as Christian Terry-Smith, is a rapper, producer, songwriter and composer from Pasadena, California. The step-son of a musician, Emani began his career at an early age by first learning the piano, then expanding to writing lyrics, producing and playing the talk box.
Inspired by artists and producers such as 2Pac, Nas, DJ Quik, Kanye West, Q-Tip and Dr. Dre, Emani totes himself as a "music historian", blending various influences to create his own unique sound.
In recent years, Emani has had numerous accomplishments including the releases of his first EP, Tha Release, and a joint instrumental project with the producer Nabeyin entitled, The Boom Bap Class, as well creating a partnership with Realsongs' chief engineer Mario Luccy, and working with many artists, including Jayy Starr, Fitz Taylor, J. Hurt, Robert Gee and Ty$. At the moment, Emani is working on his second project, the 5AM EP, as well as crafting songs for Mike Ant, TazOnTheBeatDoe, Rtist and Nino Rose. Believing that music should reflect life, Emani attempts to exude balance through his music by creating songs with depth as well as songs that are carefree
