A little over a year ago I was finally able to purchase my first set up, it was a long time coming as I've always wanted to DJ, based on being passionate about music and I guess being accountable for people enjoying themselves.
I would spend hours on end listening to DJ's such as Frankie Knuckles, Todd Terry, Carl Cox (to name a few) trying to figure out how they do what they do and really just being inspired by what they were able to create.
My taste in music has always been eclectic, for me, music is timeless when it's done well so I would enjoy artists such as Whitney Houston, Simply Red, TLC & Amy Winehouse, along with house music, garage/speed garage, hard house, pop/chart tracks & RnB.
I think my sound is inspired from clubs such as Trade, DTPM, Atelier, Orange and Frantic and DJ's like Tony De Vit, D'Lux, Bob Sinclair, The Sharp Boys, Tom McMillan, Full Intention, Pagano, Carl Cox and Tall Paul.
Naturally our tastes change and we are inspired by names we were not aware of before, artists such as Leftwing & Kody, Marco Lys, Martin Ikin & Format:B are a few of the names I have discovered in the last 12 months or so.
I spent a good few years on the afterhours scene in London, at such clubs listed above.
Trade had a huge impact on me, to create such an atmosphere with sound is something I always dreamed about and anybody who experienced the magic in person at super club 'Turnmills' was in my opinion priviliged to do so.
The idea behind this page was to start at the very beginning, I guess it's about progression for me and I wanted to share my journey with whoever wanted to come along for the ride.
There will be moments where things aren't always as I want them to sound, it's about learning to perfect my technique and really define my own sound.
So there you have it, a warts n all musical journey which I hope shows that I am moving in the right direction.
Let's see what the future has in store!
Thank you for listening to my uploads, I hope that you enjoy what you hear.
