Matthijs van Gilst, also known as Tekzotic, was born in 1988 in The Netherlands.
In his childhood he got a lot of tapes and cd’s from his older brother with different genres of music like Hardcore and Synthesizer. He liked it from the start and began to search for more music. The first parties he went to were Hardcore and Terror parties. After a few years he got a little bit bored with this music and came across Hardtechno music from artists like Chris Liebing and Umek. He liked it immediately and began to search for more music of this genre. Trough out the years his style evolved to the more harder side of Hardtechno and Schranz, often with influences from Industrial Hardcore.
At the age of 18 he began to experiment with Fruity Loops, just making all kinds of music for fun.
At the age of 19 he bought a pair of turntables with a friend and from that time he focused on making and playing Hardtechno and Schranz.
In January 2011 he released his first EP on a Dutch Hardtechno label called Thick Hard Movements.
In the last 3 years he performed at some local parties and at the camping party at Nature One 2012.
