About
Helming from an island in the Arabian gulf known for being a melting pot of ethnicities and cultures, this diversity is heavily reflected in Tech Aid’s eclectic arsenal of sounds. From minimal to trance, techno to psychedelic, Tech Aid’s range reflects not only an appreciation of EDM’s many genres but more importantly his daredevil approach to playing.
An unceasing underdog unafraid of pushing boundaries, or flat out breaching them, Tech Aid started off his career doing the opposite of what he’s expected to do. While most local DJs were preoccupied on the house and hip-hop scene, he set his sights higher and further than the norm. He played during Darude, Alex Gaudino and DJ Outwork’s gigs and alongside Bahrain’s pioneering techno and tech house artists Uniz Kazz, FawazO and Khalid Daylami. He also opened for the first Lunar event in Bahrain which helped usher in a new era of psychedelic to the little island, now hosting infamous psychedelic acts such as Protoculture.
In Melbourne, Tech Aid established a name for himself through a circuit of infamous house parties playing 5 to even 10 hour sets, starting off with some minimal tech building up to hard-driving progressive psy. What truly sets him apart, however, is his transformation of regular sets into dynamic performances. Equipped with bewitching tunes and boundless energy, Tech Aid refuses to confine himself behind the decks, preferring to interact consistently with the crowd.
Tech Aid’s notoriety secured him a debut alongside fellow Bahraini Uniz Kazz in the premiere trance night San Trancisco, with another gig set for the May 13th . And as fate would have it, Tech aid’s path crossed with Bahrain’s Lunar event guest Protoculture, with a supporting set during Club Hades’ 3rd birthday on May 20th. He has recently rocked Solar empire's Winter Beat Sound system sharing the main stage with Psy Trance Heavyweight ASTRIX, Ben Evans(Anomyst) and Suntribe(Digital Sun).
The list just keeps on getting better for Nawaf Al Alawi at only 21 he has rocked packed dance floors and supported the biggest names in the industry so far: John 00 Flemming – Sesto Sensto – Sunstryk – Xnoize/Major 7. !! Atmos – Quantize – Talamasca – State of Mind !! His last major accomplishment was playing on the mainstage of Strawberryfields Festival alongside 1200 mics Chicago - Neelix - Son Kite - Dick Trevor - Tetrameth - Perfect Stranger and the list goes on .. need more be said listen to the captivating sounds of tech aid
