Hailing from Victoria BC, Uncle Delbert started DJing in 1998, attempting to play hip hop on two belt driven tables worth $100. After being introduced to the house music scene in 1999, he quickly adopted this new style and started playing at house parties around Victoria. From there he moved on to play one-offs at several local clubs such as Sketchy Mex, Hush, Evolution, and Sweet Waters. His experience and dedication to a broad range of music genres gives Delbert an eclectic and capturing sound. You will hear Delbert's technical proficiency and ear for a booty shaking beat comes through in his elaborate yet spot on mixing style.
The Lone Rayjay aka LRJ:
Originally from Halifax NS, The Lone Rayjay started mixing vinyl in early 2000, focusing on a love for both dark and liquid/jazzy Drum & Bass. LRJ spent several years in the Jungle scene, first playing regularly at Evolution, and later several solo club gigs including Neptune Soundbar, Hush, and Sweet Waters. In 2008 LRJ expanded inward into exploring more 4 on the floor beats in the House, Techno, and Minimal genres. However, his love for DnB and some of the darker elements of music still come through in his track selection. Listen for long subtle mixing that creates a journey through a range of emotions.
Shooter has has been dishing out the finest in house music since 2001. A true Born and Bred Vancouver Islander who's love for house music was at first sight. Shooter is an old school vinyl junkie who won't let anything come between him and his Allen & Heath or Tech 1200's. A true house lover, he knows how to get the booties shaking with his funky, sometimes soulful deep house with a hip hop flair. Shooter is also known to lay down some straight-up prime-time house beats. If there's a party that needs a dance floor full of body bouncing, arms-in-the-air dance crazies, Shooter's your Man! Bangers baby!
Technology (for the sound geeks!):
We have dabbled in several hardware platforms over the years, and most recently have been playing on Native Instruments' Kontrol S4 Controller and Kontrol Z2 w/ Traktor Scratch Vinyl.
For studio mixing, Delbert often uses the AKAI APC 40 w/ Ableton in concert w/ NI's S4 and Traktor. LRJ has been experimenting with the Z2 and Traktor Scratch w/ Tech 1200's or Vestax PDX 2000, and custom effects mappings on NI's Kontrol F1. Shooter alternates between Serato w/ Tech 1200's and Allen&Heath Zone 32, and Traktor w/ NI's S4.
