07 Porch Swing at Sunset

These are the sounds of Bald Head Island, North Carolina.

Meant as a companion piece to an essay, Silence, in the magazine, haven, these tracks take the listener on an auditory exploration of Bald Head Island, from the three-mile ferry ride to the creaking stairs in North Carolina’s oldest standing lighthouse to the crash of waves on the beach to the swish of a canoe paddle in the creek and finally to the easy squeak of a porch swing at sunset.
