I’m Mario Contarino and I was born in Rome in 1984.
I was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy when I was 5 years old. I have always lived in Rome. I have always been keen on drums…I would always play with my mother’s saucepans…indeed, due to my passion and my hate for studying, I left school at the second year of High School.
In 2000, at 16. I joined the pop-rock band ‘Ladri di Carrozzelle’ as a drummer. The group was mainly composed of guys with the same pathology as me.
The drums were divided by four of us playing with electronic pads, so I had the chance to learn about rhythmic reading as much as writing of the instrument. I joined the group till the summer of 2006.In those six years we played all over the country, reaching the number of 600 concerts in Italy, taking parts in many important events and Tv shows. One of these events, actually the most significant, was in Rome “Concerto del primo maggio 2006” in piazza San Giovanni, standing in front of thousands of people, live on national broadcast. I left the band because of some problems with some guys of the band and of the staff.
Because of Dystophy, I lost the strength to play.
Thanks to pc and technology at the end of 2007 I began composing, using "Steinberg Cubase SX” and some VST-plug-ins (of which: Native Instruments Abbey Road Modern Drums, Bornemark Broomstick Bass, Native Instruments B4, MusicLab RealLPC, Native Intruments Guitar Rig 4, IK Multimedia Amplitube 2 and more) rock instrumental music; then I created a personal project named TBP, by which, for fun, from the summer of 2011 I converted almost 30 famous songs into hard-rock instrumental versions.
But mainly, TBP project consist on transfering emotion and state of mind into original instrumental songs, with different variety of rock (hard rock,
funky, progressive, fusion, blues, metal and more).
On 13 November 2012, was released, with the label Zeta Factory, "Universe Of Emotions" the first album of the project TBP.

Sono Mario Contarino, e sono nato a Roma nel "lontano" 1984.
All'età di 5 anni mi è stata diagnosticata la Distrofia Muscolare di Duchenne.
Ho vissuto sempre a Roma. Fin da piccolo ho sempre avuto la passione per la batteria... stavo sempre a suonare le pentole di mia madre... infatti, vista la passione, e l'odio per lo studio, ho abbandonato la scuola al secondo anno di Liceo Scientifico.
Nel 2000, cioè l'anno successivo, sono entrato a far parte come batterista, all'età di 16 anni, nella band pop-rock "Ladri di Carrozzelle", Il gruppo era composto maggiormente da ragazzi con la mia stessa patologia.
La batteria era suddivisa in 4 persone che suonavano con pad elettronici, con questo ho avuto anche l'occasione di imparare la lettura ritmica e la scrittura dello strumento. Ho fatto parte del gruppo fino all'estate del 2006... in questi sei anni ho fatto circa 600 concerti in tutta Italia, partecipando a molte manifestazioni e trasmissioni televisive importanti. Una di queste, sicuramente la più significativa, è stata la partecipazione al “Concerto del 1’ maggio” 2006 a piazza S. Giovanni a Roma, di fronte a migliaia di persone, e in diretta televisiva. Ho lasciato il gruppo, perchè si erano raffreddati i rapporti con alcune persone facenti parte della band, e dello staff.
Visto l’avanzare della Distrofia. non ho più la forza per suonare.
Ma grazie al computer, ed alla tecnologia. a fine 2007 ho iniziato a comporre, utilizzando il software della Steinberg “Cubase SX” e vari VST-plug-ins, tra i quali: Native Instruments Abbey Road Modern Drums, Bornemark Broomstick Bass, Native Instruments B4, MusicLab RealLPC, Native Intruments Guitar Rig 4, IK Multimedia Amplitube 2, e molti altri, delle canzoni rock strumentali, quindi ho creato un progetto personale dal nome TBP, con il quale, per gioco, dall’ estate 2011 ho realizzato una trentina di cover di canzoni famose, “stravolte” in versione strumentale hard-rock.
Principalmente, però, il progetto TBP, consiste nel trasmettere emozioni, e stati d’animo, tramite la musica, con brani originali strumentali che raggruppano molte influenze e varietà di generi rock (hard, funky, progressive, fusion, blues, metal e molti altri).
Il 13 Novembre 2012, è uscito, con l'etichetta Zeta Factory, "Universe Of Emotions" il primo album del progetto TBP.
