Hailing from London, via Canada and Rwanda –Tanya Auclair's musical upbringing straddled very different worlds, making for an open instinctive approach to songwriting as well as sonics. She meshes organic and electronic, pop and experimental, using unusual rhythms, lush harmonies and touches of electronica.
An excitement for music made from ‘minimal means’ has given rise to her distinctive sound as a producer and a compelling live performer, building songs on stage, with a loop pedal, her voice and an array of instruments.
The multi-instrumentalist has worked with the likes of Matthew Herbert’s Big Band Ensemble, Charlie Dark, Stateless, Yult and has been commissioned to do live film scores for Vision Sound Music - the critically acclaimed live re-score of Black Orpheus with Charlie Dark - and Birds Eye View's 'Sounds & Silents'.
