Tantrum is Alex Richardson from Byron Bay Northern New South Wales Australia.

Was introduced to psytrance in the hills surrounding Byron Bay, over 12 years ago. In 2002 teamed up with some friends & formed Looney Tunez Productions, an events & decor crew holding underground parties & festivals across Northern New south Wales & Southern Queensland for the past 10 years.

Tantrum began to DJ at smaller parties around 2003, slowly building his reputation & gaining more confidence behind the decks. Fast forward a few years & he is now label DJ for both Digital Psionics & Replicant Records Australia & South African label NeXus Media. Well known for his powerful & twisted twilight sets, Tantrum has been fortunate enough to play alongside acts such as Digital Talk, Concept, Scorb, Prism, Shift, Twisted System, Chromatone, Electrypnose, Rubix Qube, Biorhythm, Xatrik, Hydraglyph, Phyx, Dark Nebula, Green Nuns of the Revolution & many more.

Previous sets include some of Australia’s finest festivals & parties such as Earth Freq, Royal Doof, Regrowth, Secret Sessions, Earthdance, Progressions of Freedom, Shitz n Giggles, Lost The Plot & many more.

Whilst continuing to DJ, Tantrum is now also focusing on music production & 2008 not only saw the release of the “Psionic Force” compilation on Digital Psionics which was compiled by Tantrum but also featured Tantrum’s first release’s which were collaboration tracks with label mates Electrypnose & Dark Nebula.

Since then Tantrum has been hard at work in the studio defining his sound, which can be described as full on & twisted twilight psytrance. After working on a variety of collaboration tracks with artists such as Dark Nebula, Rubix Qube, Critical Mass, Electrypnose & X-Side, Tantrum is now working on numerous releases with other labels as well as working on his first EP due for release in 2012.
