Colourcast - Vol.1

"Floating particles slowly drifting through the stratosphere, after ages falling into the champagne sea..."

- 6/25/12

Welcome to the second volume in our series of Colourcasts. With this volume, we`re all about the sun, the primordial sea, and sacred tribal vibes. As well as presenting several exclusive tracks from a few of our favorite artists. This volume also represents much of the music we`ve been listening to as of lately. Laurel Halo, Lone, Lapalux, Machinedrum, Actress and Indian Wells have all been heavily played in my rotation over the past few months. Really admire the unique style Halo has brought to light recently. Expressing the kind of artistic sensibilities only a talented female composer such as herself could truly express. Actress` latest LP "R.I.P.", released on Honest Jon`s Records, also really caught my ear after hearing it this past spring. It really shows his evolution as an artist who has honed his musical style and skills. It was almost all I listened to in the month after its release. Another artist who has been getting a lot of comparison to Actress recently, who I`ve really begun to admire, is newcomer Indian Wells. Whose debut album "Night Drops", I have to say, I was lucky enough to hear in the months before it was released on Bad Panda Records. Lone`s latest album "Galaxy Garden" also really took me by surprise, he`s really stepped up his game with this one. His new production styles and collaborations with Machinedrum on "As A Child" and "Cthulhu" are simply breathtaking and really something to behold. Speaking of Machinedrum, his album "Room(s)" which was released last summer on Planet Mu Records, was just re-released this past April on Vinyl along with unreleased B-side bonus material. Highly recommending all of these releases. Moving on to some of our featured material, first up we`re presenting a new tribal-infused track from Pogflipper. Which will be on his forthcoming split cassette release with Infinite Potentials on Future Science Records. Next up is Navigateur`s new single, a dark story of a civilization at sea slowly slipping beneath the waves. Following, is the B-side from Missions upcoming vinyl release of "Darrk/Blakk" on Pau Wau records. A sacred-synth piece with echoing, almost monk like chanting`s that summon forth the epoch of a new season. The vinyl release will also be accompanied by a digital release of "Darrk/Blakk" remixes. Also, another recent vinyl release we`re recommending is Monster Rally`s second full length album "Beyond The Sea" on Gold Robot Records. - Be sure to check them all out!
