Episode 6 of the 530Techno podcast is a multi-layered exploration of current techno, tech-house, bits of ambient and dubstep. Inspired by mixes by Blipswitch SF Digital's head honcho J.Rogers and recent mixes by Joris Voorn and Ritchie Hawtin have led me to experiment with mixing parts and pieces of many tracks I love in order to create a more dynamic and energetic mix. I first looked at only the tracks I was really digging at the moment and then worked to put tracks together that I thought fit well. Mixed live on Ableton with 3-4 decks and some effects, it's hard to say where one track starts and one track begins at times so the tracklist is approximate. In the tradition of old school techno mixes, I tried to keep as intuitive a feel for what was going on at the moment and just did my best to sculp and filter the music rather than cut/paste. For the most part I think it works quite well and have to say it was a lot of fun to make. Hope you Enjoy! - symbio
