About
Swashway is an Estonian drum & bass/dubstep/electronica one-(wo)man-project by Marion Kruut.
Some of you may remember her as Spindrift. In the July of 2009, she decided to rename her project as Swashway.
It was 2004, when she discovered the charm of music creation. Music has always been living in the deepest part of her heart.
Anyhow, she have never taken piano lessons. She found it dispensable, so she learned to play synth all by herself. She's always been willing to discover new things by her own and she really believe that if you desire something badly, you can always have/do it.
One day she discovered some random music forum where people were talking about making music with professional programs. She was stunned and got some programs right away. That's how the journey began.
Marion started to make music with different music programs. Majority of her first songs where remixes and mash up's. Why so? At that time she and her friends used to have a huge parties at some rented houses. Music was essential there. Her friends told her to create mixes and remixes of different songs, so they can be played at the parties. Marion collected all the mixing and remixing ideas and did it. It was fun.
Some years later Marion began to create her own songs. First songs where drum & bass style. Melody and harmony have always been playing a very important part in her songs. As people say, every song is a reflection of a composers soul and thoughts.
From now on, she's experimenting and creating music without no specific genre limits.
