About
Limit Is The Sky - The motto that Sven Kirchhof has been living by since his first single of the same title.
As one of Laidback Luke’s protégées, the Frankfurt-native has paved his way within the past 2 years as one of the top rising German Producers and DJs, as well as being recognized internationally.
Sven already began experimenting with turntables and synthesizers since the ripe young age of 14. By 16, he had released his first studio production, taking the first step towards his future in music.
Taking a short break from producing, Sven placed his focus on founding and becoming A&R of his own label, "Dark-Noize-Recordings", enabling upcoming talent to take their first steps into the music business. After 5 years of sole dedication to the label, this has marked the beginnings of a return to the spotlight.
Back with a fresh sound from his new studio, Sven was able to catch the attention of none other than Dutch house music giant, Laidback Luke, who not only booked him for his famous "Super You & Me" tour, but also released Sven’s single, “Limit Is the Sky” on his own label, Mixmash Records. The track placed in the top 30 of the Beatport Progressive House charts and Sven has been mentioned more than once as an artist to watch in Luke’s interviews.
However, Laidback Luke is not the only one who has taken notice.
Subsequent releases included Steve Aoki’s "Dim Mak" and a remix for the US band Switchfoot in December 2010 on Atlantic Records, gaining support from David Guetta, Max Vangeli, and TV Rock.
Recently having achieved the no. 3 spot on the Beatport Remix chart for Chris Kaeser's "Shes Playing On U!" as of February 2012, Sven broke onto the scene with international status.
Sven’s talent has also not gone unnoticed from the emerging EDM scene in the US.
What started as an easy remix task for the Grammy-nominated Richard Vission developed into a creative partnership between the two. The first collaboration from Richard and Sven, “Feel The Love”, signed on Spinnin Records, has been in continuous play since its release, being included in sets from Tiesto, Ferry Corsten and Thomas Gold. In addition, the track appeared on the Beatport Progressive House Charts for 2 weeks straight.
As an established member of the Mixmash Records family, Sven has an impressive comeback within the past 2 years to look back on. With official remixes released for Arty’s „Around The World“ or Lady Gaga's Producer "Cherry Cherry Boom Boom", the upcoming projects for 2013 are already studded with highlights.
Most important is the remix for Laidback Luke & Hardwell’s – Dynamo.
His "XXX" remix for Oliver Twizt & Angger Dimas appeared on Dim Mak Records at the end of February, as his remix for the australian Dance Queen Zoe Badwi. The next solo single with the "Feenixpawl" singer Quilla is near completion, as well as the follow-up single with Richard Vission already underway, and Sven will finally return with a long-anticipated new track on Mixmash Records. And last but not least, the remixes for "Static Revenger" and the new single from Richard Vission feat. Luciana are sure to be shaking up dance floors.
Apart from all the productions, Sven was able to fulfill another dream at the beginning of 2012, playing at the legendary Frankfurt Cocoon Club as a resident DJ.
Playing alongside DJ heavyweights, including Axwell, Fedde Le Grand, Tommy Trash, Sandro Silva, and Bingo Players, and with mentor Laidback Luke, was not only special for Sven, but also created unforgettable nights for the crowd. During his “away games” at international shows, such as Cologne’s Bootshaus or Muschi Club, Amsterdam’s Undercurrent and the 3001 in Düsseldorf, he was able to quickly turn up the crowd’s energy into a home game experience through his infectious sound. Sven was also able to win over the crowds at local clubs such as Velvet, Adlib and King Kamehameha.
It’s no surprise that he took what was an initially small pre-party at the Jimmy Woo Club for the Umagination Festival in Umag, Croatia last Summer and set the venue on fire with his electrifying sound.
2013 has only just begun for Sven and the limits are nowhere in sight.
