<3 Susie, and this project, and she absolutely would do great things with this fellowship.

I would love to see and hear what Susie does with this!

Both the project and the person behind it are, without a doubt, truly deserving of this support.

I've lived in West Oakland for 8 years, and I am all too well acquainted with the violence in my community. I totally agree with Susie Cagle's observations about the way my community's violence is too quickly forgotten and too easily made impersonal. I hope you fund this because I see it as something that could make a difference, and tell more truth than is being told right now. The voices of those who lose loved ones on the streets of Oakland are not heard enough, and they must be if we ever want things to get better.

a brilliant project, one deserving of the fellowship.

The street side memorials in Oakland and the Bay Area are such an amazing marker of community, the likes of which I haven't seen in any other place I've lived. (Don't forget the dancing!) This project would be so awesome and would share this beyond the few who get to, regrettably, see it on the regular.
