Surecut Kids release double A-side : Hooligan Style/ Toke Dat
Prepare for debut LP release in November
Gold Coast duo Surecut Kids are without doubt one of Australia’s favourite party acts, having spun at every major festival, dominated clubs coast to coast, and supported some of the biggest acts to tour the country.
Comprised of Benji Honey and Mikey Perry, the boys‘ unique brand of bass-driven party music has previously seen them release on Klub Kids Records. Now, however, Surecut Kids have taken matters into their own hands, gearing up for their self-released debut LP, Werk, this November.
Already having released and toured previous singles Show You What I’ve Got / Tangle, Honey and Perry are ready to give audiences one last taster ahead of the full album release, in the form of double A-side Hooligan Style / Toke Dat.
Hooligan Style, a single influenced by the hardstyle/reggae sounds of Major Lazer and The Partysquad, is a party swayer, built to conduct a late night summer dance floor. Its compatriot, Toke Dat, takes its lead from a raw trap pulse, featuring rap verses from Brisbane‘s MC Kitch. Both singles serve to exhibit the sounds that have thrown Surecut Kids into the the spotlight, and perfectly capture the sonic dissonance unified by Surecut’s party bass motif.
Hooligan / Toke Dat will be available on iTunes on November 16th.
Surecut Kids’ full album, Werk, will be available on iTunes and Beatport on November 5th.
