Bio-

Born April 24th1988, NOVA aka Taylor Raffensperger began his musical journey at a very young age. In middle school he learned to play the cello, piano, various flutes, and even sang in the choir. In high school, NOVA joined the rock band Media Jones where he played keyboards and synthesizers with the band. Media Jones broke up for the most part when it came time for everyone to start attending collage but NOVA would not stop his musical career there. He began making experimental hip-hop style beats on his laptop to fill his musical cravings as well as delving into some electronic style music. You could say it was love at first sound! NOVA was fascinated by the fact he could write and compose entire songs without the hassle of getting a full piece band together to try and make music. Soon after he started a hip-hop group with his brother Beau and took up the name Du-West. NOVA, then going by the name of TBR would create what he calls new age hip-hop style beats and he not only produced the music for the group but began to write versus and rap over them with his brother as well. Since then the duo released an album in 2009, titled “Chapter 1, Letters Out”. During the time NOVA was working on his first hip-hop album in 2009 he began a side project producing experimental electronic house music under the name MDT. He loved the new electronic sound he was creating and he started to DJ local house parties and small gigs around town playing out house music as well as some of his original work. The music began to catch on among friends and he went on to create a production company called Collective Motions. CM was a group of artist dedicated to throwing amazing productions where guest could enjoy music and art as well as experience a higher level of conciseness in the music community. About a year after CM was created Taylor began a new musical journey and the one he is working on today, NOVA. NOVA is a new fresh sound that is a culmination of all the musical paths that lead to where Taylor is today. A mix of down-tempo, hip-hop, electronic, feel that offers every ear something to listen to. NOVA self-released his first full-length album in 2010 titled "From Stars We Come". A wonderful down-tempo album that is easy on the ears and takes you through a mystical journey of space and time. NOVA currently released a new EP titled, MoveMent Us and it is available for download at novamusic.bandcamp.com. Since creating NOVA, Taylor has had the opportunity to play on KGNUs Sleepless Nights Radio Show hosted by Buddha Bomb and has shared the stage with the likes of, Emancipator, Elliot Lipp, DARK PARTY, Mux Mool, Alex B, Leo 123, Omega, Future Simple Project, and drop part of his new EP (MoveMent Us) on GreenLight Radio. To NOVA music is life, it’s a channeling of feelings and expression that comes through true in the original music he makes. As the great Biggie Smalls once said, “The sky is the Limit” and to NOVA this could never be more true. Enjoy -_-
