Amy Fitzsimons brings the power of her classically trained voice and an eclectic mix of original material to the Belfast singer/songwriter scene. She has made appearances at the Lagan Sessions, was a featured performer at an all female showcase at Victoria's Belfast and a performer at the 2013 Red Sails Festival in Portstewart. Amy has become a familiar face and voice at the Hatfield House, her local. Upcoming appearances are to include Oxjam, Holywood Culture Night and the Society Sessions at the Empire.
Originally from Knoxville, TN, she sang with the Knoxville Opera Company for eleven seasons and was the lead vocalist with Shamrock Road, an Irish pub ballad band. Her first original ballad, "Celtic Tiger" was featured on a live broadcast of the WDVX Blue Plate Special and the band made an appearance on Live at Five at Four to promote the East Tennessee Irish Festival 2009 where Shamrock Road supported the legendary Dublin City Ramblers.
Amy is the music teacher at the Holywood Rudolf Steiner School, and is the newly appointed program director of Peace Through Music Northern Ireland, a branch of the Shropshire Music Foundation (Liz Shropshire, International Program Director) and is extremely passionate about reaching children of all walks of life through the universal language of music.
