Everything in Between, the new album from the Los Angeles-based art-punk duo No Age, is due out on September 28, 2010. In celebration and anticipation of this new album, we’re putting out two “Glitter” singles! Both the 12-inch and the 7-inch feature the album track “Glitter,” but each single has different, non-album b-sides (the 7-inch has one called “Inflorescence,” and the 12-inch has “In Rebound” and “Vision II”).

I've got no problem with paying someone for their work - though most people should be pretty clear that very few artists - particularly at No Age's level - make a ton of money from their recordings. You want to help a band, don't buy every silly repressing of the same song, buy the merch from them at shows (hell, just go to the shows - the more people that show up the more likely they will have bigger, better paying shows in the future). Regardless, in this day and age, it's a pathetic trick to milk money out of "completist" fans to make you purchase multiple formats just to get all the songs, especially when the releases are on vinyl, which is something wonderful but also not a format everyone has access too. But, hell, you'll get to buy it all over again on the "B-Sides" comp so you can have it on CD and MP3.

It kills me that everything devolves to the pathetic "money for hard work" line anyway. Music is about art and art is about expression. Expression doesn't include releasing ten different packages with minor variations and maximizing your profit level. It is as a working musician that I'm offended by these tactics. It's cynical, stupid, and outdated.

Great track but it's kinda whack you have to buy both to get all the cuts. A lot of us are broke these days.
