About

Strummindude is the project name for the music of Jana Persson. Started in early 2008, its ambition was primarily to try and produce an album within the month of February, as a part of the online RPM Challenge. This first, tentative effort eventually resulted in "The Sauna Tapes", released on March 1, 2008. This album was a solitary effort, and, though humble, served to boost confidence in the feasibility of the project.

The following year saw Strummindude return to the same Challenge, now armed with the help of some fine musician friends. Out of these collaborations was born the more solid album "Writing On The Wall", released in the spring of '09.

The album "Three" was a part of RPM '10, and was commenced following some extensive rebuilding of the studio locations and major upgrades of equipment. An "RPM Edition" of the material was released for the conclusion of the challenge deadline, but post production work and additional recordings delayed the official release until the fall of 2010.

In 2011, the fourth Strummindude album, "Kaleidoscopy" was produced, also as part of the RPM Challenge. This album is perhaps the most musically diverse one yet, spanning from 9-minute Progressive Rock epics to Bossanova ditties. Also, this album saw some extensive songwriting collaborations.
