About

Strike first discovered dance music during the heyday of hard house’s popularity – 2001. He fell in love with the music and was hooked instantly, going out to every hard dance event he could. Over the years he attended countless hard house parties, and developed an encyclopedic knowledge of the genre. After several years of collecting records and being a dancefloor regular on the Wellington hard dance party circuit, he finally decided to take the plunge and become a DJ. Cutting his teeth playing at the notorious afterparties held at his infamous Duke Street flat, recent times have seen Strike’s DJ career going from strength to strength, pushing his trademark tough, funky and uncompromising hard house sound for top Wellington promotions Twisted? and The Alliance, as well as his own hard dance promotion Hardbeat, which has rejuvenated the Wellington scene. He has also played for major promotions all over NZ, including Soundscape, Fevah and Stereodays, and successfully taken the Hardbeat brand to Australia. His first studio production 'Crazy,' a collaboration with Jody 6, Wenz, and Hooverlicious, is forthcoming for release on top hard house label Fireball Recordings. Strike has supported internationals such as Grady G, Lucy Fur, Kris O’Rourke, Jody 6, Steve Hill and more, and remains in high demand for his unique mix of high energy party music. Strike also runs a weekly radio show, Hardbeat Sunday, broadcasting on NZ's premier dance music station Fevah FM.
